It was an age of adventure and misadventure both, where out in the rough and open sea men could ply their trade of goods, shot, and steel. With the wars of religion ending in the Old World, the New World has become the center of trade. Its rich resources of gold and silver and other commodities are a veritable feast for any enterprising party, and older nation-states like Spain, France, England, and the Netherlands, vie for control over this banquet.
The trade-routes around the New World have become bustling with merchants. However, where lies those who would gain riches through honest work, there follow those who would do dishonest work.
